- M. A-G.-A. Ferré Des Ferris, né à Passais en 1805. Il appartenait à une famille fort ancienne dans le pays de Domfront (Orne).

Note historique:
- M. Alphonse-Guillaume-Ambroise FERRÉ DES FERRIS , dont il est question ici, fut reçu, en 1829 avocat au barreau de Paris, il allait entrer comme auditeur au Conseil- d'Etat, lorsque la révolution de 1830 changea ses dispositions.
Il épousa en 1832 mademoiselle AGLAÉ LE LUBOIS DE MARSILLY, fille de l'officier supérieur de ce nom, alors directeur de l'artillerie de la marine à Cherbourg, chevalier des ordres militaires de Saint-Louis et de la Légion-d'Honneur, et de dame AGLAÉ DE GUÉROUST DE BOISCLAIREAU.
- M. FERRÉ DES FERRIS se trouve allié à d'autres honorables et
nobles familles de la Basse-Normandie.
- Dans la vie libre que les évènements lui avaient faite, on le vit à la tête de toutes les améliorations que les intérêts agricoles et commerciaux de son pays réclamaient ; des établissements industriels qu'il a créés, les voies de communications dont jouit sa contrée, grâce à ses sacrifices et à son action personnels, sont là pour l'attester. Aussi ses concitoyens, dans leur estime et leur reconnaissance, l'ont-ils appelé à toutes les fonctions que
l'élection peut conférer, d'abord dans la garde nationale, puis dans l'administration.
Depuis longtemps maire du Teilleul, commune qu'il habite, il a successivement représenté son canton, d'abord au conseil d'arrondissement de Mortain, puis au conseil général de la Manche, à partir de 1835 ; et enfin , le 13 mai 1849, il a été nommé représentant à l'Assemblée législative par 62,496
voix, dans le département de la Manche, ayant été porté sur la liste du parti modéré. Il a pris siége dans cette assemblée au centre droit, parmi les
légitimistes catholiques ; et , dès le commencement de la session, il a fait parti de plusieurs commissions chargées d'élaborer des lois importantes.

Historical note:
- Mr. Alphonse-Guillaume-Ambroise FERRÉ DES FERRIS, mentioned here, was received in 1829 as a lawyer at the Paris bar, he was going to enter as an auditor at the Council of State, when the revolution of 1830 changed its dispositions.
He married in 1832 Mademoiselle AGLAÉ LE LUBOIS DE MARSILLY, daughter of the senior officer of that name, then director of the naval artillery in Cherbourg, knight of the military orders of Saint-Louis and of the Legion-d'Honneur, and Lady AGLAÉ DE GUÉROUST DE BOISCLAIREAU.
- M. FERRÉ DES FERRIS finds himself allied with other honorable and
noble families of Lower Normandy.
- In the free life that events had given him, he was seen at the head of all the improvements that the agricultural and commercial interests of his country demanded; of the industrial establishments which he created, the means of communication which his country enjoys, thanks to his sacrifices and his personal action, are there to attest it. Also his fellow citizens, in their esteem and gratitude, have called him to all the functions that
election can confer, first in the national guard, then in the administration.
For a long time mayor of Teilleul, the town he lives in, he successively represented his canton, first on the borough council of Mortain, then on the general council of La Manche, from 1835; and finally, on May 13, 1849, he was appointed Representative in the Legislative Assembly by 62,496
vote, in the department of Manche, having been carried on the list of the moderate party. He took his seat in this assembly at the center right, among the
Catholic legitimists; and, from the beginning of the session, he served on several commissions responsible for drafting important laws.
